Description
In 1830, Mr. Aeneas Coffey created the first patented continuous still in history, known as the Coffey Still. Masataka Taketsuru admired this kind of still's ability to preserve ingredient flavors while producing a unique mouthfeel. 2012 saw the launching of this distinctive grain whisky. In order to bring out the sweet and mellow characteristics of Coffey distillates, whiskey that is mostly made from corn and distilled in a Coffey still is aged in old casks, such as re-filled, re-made, and re-charred casks that were initially made from American oak. Tasting Notes: Nose: Bourbon-like vanilla and corn notes with a herbal hint of chamomile. Palate: Sweet, fruity flavours of melon, grapefruit and thick syrup, balanced by crunchy biscuits and fresh vanilla. Finish: The corn notes, sweet and vibrant, last on the finish.Product Details
